How do I undo a contact import?

Delete contacts created by one import without removing later work or message history.

1 min read

Undo deletes only contacts that this import created and that are still safe to remove. It does not reverse field updates.

  1. Open Contacts, then Imports.
  2. Select the finished import.
  3. Select Undo this import.
  4. Check the number in the confirmation.
  5. Select Delete them.

The result shows Import undone and the number removed. The Undone status stays on the import and in Imports after a reload. The verification reminder disappears after undo. The confirmation result names any contacts kept.

Contact Why ColdMerge keeps them
The import only updated them The earlier values were not stored, so the update cannot be reversed truthfully
They were emailed after the import Deleting would remove the record of what was sent
They now belong to another list Later list work must not be removed with the mistaken import

If the import’s destination list has been deleted, ColdMerge keeps anyone who is now on any list.

When nothing was undone and no contact is safe to remove, the page says Nothing left to undo. These contacts were emailed, joined another list, or were already removed.

Suppression imports have no bulk undo. See import a suppression list.
