How do I import a suppression list?
Upload addresses that ColdMerge must never email, without creating contacts.

Use a suppression import when you are moving opt-outs from another tool. It adds addresses to the suppression list and does not create contacts.
Import the addresses
Section titled “Import the addresses”- Open Contacts, then Suppression.
- Open Upload a file.
- Drop the file onto the upload area, or select it to browse.
- Select Read the addresses.
- Check the count under Suppress these addresses.
- Select Apply import.
There is no column-mapping step and no destination list.
Read the result
Section titled “Read the result”| Outcome | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Suppressed | The address was added to the suppression list |
| Skipped: already suppressed | The existing row and reason were kept |
| Skipped: not an address | The uploaded value was invalid |
| Skipped: repeated in the file | A later row with the same address won |
If an address belongs to a contact already queued in a campaign, suppression removes that person from every unfinished send immediately.
Remove a mistaken row
Section titled “Remove a mistaken row”There is no bulk undo. An Owner or Admin can remove an imported suppression one row at a time from Contacts, then Suppression. Rows created by an unsubscribe or erasure can never be removed.
See manage the suppression list for lookup and removal steps.
