Manage your account

Everything on this page lives on one screen. Go to Settings, then Account, under the You group. The page describes itself in one line: “Your sign-in, email, active sessions, and account.”

This page is about you, the person signed in. It is not the Accounts page, which holds the Google mailboxes you send from. See Connect and manage your mailboxes for those.

  1. Go to Settings, then Account.
  2. In the Password section, type your Current password.
  3. Type your New password, then type it again in Confirm new password. A strength meter sits under the new password field as you type.
  4. If you want every other device signed out at the same time, tick Sign out other devices.
  5. Select Update password.

A password change is a good moment to sign the old devices out, which is why the checkbox sits right there in the form. When you tick it, the confirmation reads “Password updated. Other devices signed out.” Without it, it just reads “Password updated.” Either way, the device you are using stays signed in.

If the two new passwords do not match, or a field is blank, the form says so under the field and sends nothing. If your current password is wrong, the change is refused and you can try again without retyping everything.

Your email address is how ColdMerge reaches you about billing, so it is never switched over on your word alone. The new address has to prove it can receive mail first.

  1. Go to Settings, then Account.
  2. In the Email address section, look at the line “Signed in as”, which shows the address you have now.
  3. Type the address you want in New email.
  4. Select Send verification link.
  5. Open the new mailbox and follow the link.

Until you follow that link, your old address stays in charge. You keep signing in with it, and billing mail keeps going to it.

Why the confirmation is worded the way it is

Section titled “Why the confirmation is worded the way it is”

After you submit, the page shows a note headed “Check your email” that reads: “If that address is available, a link is on its way. Your current address stays your address until you open it.”

Notice the “if”. ColdMerge will not tell you whether the address you typed already belongs to another ColdMerge user. Saying so would leak something about someone else, so the same wording appears either way.

The practical effect: if no link ever arrives, the most likely reason is that the address is already in use somewhere in ColdMerge. Check the mailbox, check its spam folder, and if there is still nothing, try a different address or contact support.

The Email address section immediately after submitting, showing the “Check your email” note with
the hedged “If that address is available” wording, the “Signed in as” line above it, and the empty
New email field.

Use this when you have left yourself signed in on a shared or lost computer and you do not want to change your password.

  1. Go to Settings, then Account.
  2. In the Sessions section, select Sign out other devices.
  3. A dialog asks “Sign out other devices?” and explains: “Signs out every other device. This one stays signed in.”
  4. Select Sign out other devices to confirm.

Every other signed-in device is turned away the next time it tries to do anything. The device you are on right now is not affected.

This is the last section on the page, and it has a red-tinted border so you do not wander into it. Only an Owner sees it at all.

The section says what it does: “Removes your workspace and everything in it, for good.”

  1. Go to Settings, then Account.
  2. Scroll to Delete account and select the red Delete account button.
  3. A dialog headed “Delete everything?” appears. It states exactly what goes: “Wipes your account: mailboxes, contacts, campaigns, history, and any subscription. Cannot be undone.”
  4. Type the confirmation phrase the dialog shows you. The confirm button stays locked until the phrase matches exactly.
  5. Select Delete everything.

You are signed out and returned to the login screen, because there is nothing left to be signed in to.

The “Delete everything?” confirmation dialog open, showing the full description line, the
type-to-confirm phrase and its empty input, and the disabled “Delete everything” button. Capture
it as an Owner, since nobody else sees this section.
  • Every connected mailbox, and ColdMerge’s access to it.
  • Every contact, list, and import.
  • Every campaign, sequence, and the sending history behind them.
  • Your subscription. ColdMerge cancels it before tearing anything down, so you are not left paying for a workspace that no longer exists.

There is no undo, no grace window, and no export step built into the flow. If you want to keep your contacts or your results, export them from Contacts, lists & imports and Campaigns & sequences before you start.

Mail that has already been sent is not recalled. It sits in your recipients’ inboxes and in your own Gmail Sent folder, which ColdMerge does not control.
